What is the Oldest Winery in Hood River?
The oldest Hood River winery is the Stoltz Vineyard and Winery. It has a rich history and was built in 1896. The gothic mansion is nicknamed “The mansion on the hill” and is the oldest known building to still be standing along the Hood River and wasn’t always a winery. Before it became a winery and vineyard, it was a fully functioning morgue for the local town, for over 45 years. Rumour has it, there is a friendly ghost who patrols the mansion hallways.
