History Supreme – $4,8 billion

This 100-foot yacht is owned by Malaysian billionaire Robert Kuok, who is the country’s most wealthy man. The master bedroom sports a statue made of genuine T-Rex dinosaur bones and a wall clad with meteorite rock, plus a full wall aquarium made of 24-carat gold. The yacht was built in 2011 and designed by Stuart Hughes. Some sources are said to believe the yacht does not actually exist and is an elaborate hoax by the designer.

Eclipse – $1,5 billion

Just when we thought we were safe from mentioning Russian oligarchs! The Eclipse is owned by Russian-Israeli oligarch and UK resident, Roman Abromovich. But hang on, does he still own it following UK sanctions? Yes, he does according to the British tabloid, The Sun. It reports that Eclipse sailed to Montenegro following the UK imposing sanctions on Abromovich following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The yacht has its own missile defence system, is 50 feet longer than a UK destroyer class ship at 550 feet, weighs 13,000 tons and accommodates a crew of 70 with a top speed of 22 knots. It has its own mini-submarine, two helipads, a disco hall and 24 guest cabins. Oh, did we mention that all the windows are bulletproof too?

Streets of Monaco – $1.1 billion

This yacht is one of the the most expensive yachts in the world. This 500-footer has no owner yet, but it resembles a floating Monaco city. It has helicopter and submarine facilities, a casino, a go-kart track, a spa and an underwater restaurant. It also has a large atrium with floating platforms.

Azzam – $600 million

Owned by the UAE President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nayan this 590-footer also sports a missile defence system and a bullet-proof master suite, French-inspired design and can travel at 35 mph, making it a super-fast yacht.

A+ (formerly named Topaz) – $527 million

The Deputy President of the UAE, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nayan, owns this baby with 8 aluminium superstructure viewing decks, a fitness hall, a movie theatre, 2 helipads and a private jacuzzi on deck. It’s 482 feet long and was built in 2012.

Motor-Yacht A – $440 million

This 390-foot yacht was designed by Philippe Starck and is owned by Andrei Melnichenko, the Russian billionaire and philanthropist. Built in 2008, she sports a 2,500 square-foot master suite, disco, helicopter, a glass-bottomed swimming pool and a 30-foot speedboat.

Dubai – $400 million

Back to the UAE, the ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Rashid al-Maktoum owns this 532-foot yacht which accommodates a crew of 115. Built in 2006 and designed by Blohm + Voss and Lǜrssen, it features a circular glass-stepped staircase which lights up and changes colours, a swimming pool with hand-made tiles and a helipad. 

Serene – $330 million

Of course Saudi-Arabian Crown Prince MBS (Mohammed Bin Salmon) also has a yacht. She is 439 feet, has a seawater pool, a helipad which converts into a pool or a dance floor, a snow and steam room, a submarine and an outdoor movie theatre. Serene was designed by Espen Oeino and was built in 2011.

Radiant – $320 million

UAE business magnate Abdullah al Futtaim owns this 377-footer. With multiple swimming pools, a massage spa and high-power water cannon to fend off pirates, this pleasure boat was built in 2009.

Al Said – $300 million

Not to be outdone by the Emirates, the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq al Said’s yacht has a concert hall big enough for a 50-piece orchestra, can host 70  guests and a crew of 154. She is 508 foot and was built in 2007.

Pelorus – $300 million

Owned by Chinese billionaire property magnate Samuel Tak Lee, Pelorus is 377 feet, has 2 swimming pools, a full-time crew of 46, a tender deck with numerous small boats and a master suite with horizon-to-horizon views.

Dilbar – $256 million

Back to the Russian oligarchs with Dilbar, whose owner Alisher Usmanov’s wealth comes from metal and mining. At 360 feet, Dilbar has multiple swimming pools, is named after the owner’s mother and can accommodate 20 guests and 46 crew. She is used often by Usmanov to visit his private islands.

Al-Mirqab – $250 million

Qatar’s former Prime Minister, Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani owns this 436-foot yacht. She has a movie theatre, and VIP suites and can host 24 guests with 55 crew members.

Lady Moura – $210 million

Owned by Mexican billionaire Alberto Bailléres, this yacht was built in 1990, making her one of the oldest super-yachts on the list. She has hosted George H. W. and Barbara Bush, has a helipad, a pool with a retractable roof and 24-carat gold embellishments throughout her interior.

Octopus – $200 million

Owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, the 414-foot yacht sports a basketball court, a recording studio and two dedicated cabins for doctors. She is happily loaned out to scientific researchers, projects and rescues.

The Rising Sun – $300 million

Owned by US magnate and founder of Dreamworks David Geffen, the Rising Sun also sports a basketball court, a movie theatre and a wine cellar. Famous guests include Bruce Springsteen, Leonardo di Caprio, Oprah Winfrey and Sir Paul McCartney.

Ecstasia – $200 million

Belgian business magnate and investor Alshair Fiyaz has won many awards for his investments and Ecstasia is certainly another of them. She is one of the largest Feadship yachts ever built at 282 feet. Dutch firm Feadship has roots going back to 1849 and is well known for building super-yachts.

Solandge – $180 million

Solandge has no current owner but she features a glass installation by Murano, is available for charter at $ 1,075,000 a week and has 8 VIP suites.

Aviva – $150 million

British businessman and investor Joe Lewis, owns this 223-foot yacht. She has a full-size tennis court, and suites for 16 guests and boasts an art collection which includes Picasso and Degas.

Lionheart – $150 million

The former owner of TopShop, Top Man and Miss Selfridge Sir Philip Green is said to have hosted Kate Moss, Christiano Ronaldo and Simon Cowell on board this beauty. Lionheart has 6 VIP suites and several private balconies.

Us mere mortals are unlikely to make it on the guest list of any of these most expensive yachts but in the rarefied world of the uber-wealthy, these expensive toys are just a drop in the ocean.
