Wine with a breath-taking view, it’s truly something to add to your travel bucket list. Kaya Winery is located on top of a sixteen-hundred-foot elevated ridge. This means that you have a panoramic view of the mountainside. Twelve-foot windows enclose the tasting room that features a covered deck. The winery also has plans of expanding to include a hotel, cottages and even an events centre.

This small 180-acre family farm is located in the historic Lumpkin County. It is a mere 8 miles from where America’s first major gold rush took place and has a lot for guests to see and enjoy. As the name implies, the Three Sisters Mountain forms part of the backdrop for a spectacular wine-tasting experience. You’ll want to pencil in a stop here if you’re travelling through the area.

Cavender Creek Vineyards & Winery

  • Location: 3610 Cavender Creek Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533
  • Tasting times: Thursday and Sunday from 12:30 to 17:30, Friday from 12:30 to 19:00 and Saturday from 11:00 to 19:00.

This small family farm features a hand-hewn log cabin from the 1820s that was first built in Tennessee. It was then disassembled and moved to the farm in Georgia where it was reassembled. Below ground is the winery, while the loft above – with a stunning deck – acts as a tasting space offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. This award-winning winery offers stunning lake views with an impressive mountainside backdrop, ensuring the ultimate tasting experience. They use French winemaking rules, which means that no sugar is added to the wines. Simply put, dry wines are their speciality. This winery is definitely worth visiting as it offers a different view of the mountains, whereas many of the others provide a birds-eye view.
