Spring Studios, the advanced and original agency that combines trailblazing spaces with ultramodern technology, will once more play host to New York Fashion Week in 2023. Set to unfold from the 10th of February, although designers will also be hosting shows across New York, the main thrust of Fashion Week will happen in the famous TriBeCa location.
Stellar production services, open spaces brimming with natural light, and a rooftop platform boasting unparalleled views of Manhattan make Spring Studios the logical choice for the world’s top designers to showcase their wares.

The Who’s Who of the Fashion World
The roster of brands and designers that have confirmed that they’ll be presenting at NYFW features 100+ different names and makes up the biggest and best names in the world of women’s fashion. Along with some new faces, heritage designer labels including Carolina Herrera, Coach, Micheal Kors, Tory Burch, and Vivienne Tam will be making a splash.
Exhibitions like Cinq à Sept, Libertine, Rosetta Getty, Tara Babylon, and Tibi will be by appointment only. Others, including Et Ochs, LaPointe, Maisie Wilen, NIHL, and Saint Sinatra will rely on digital releases.
Rodarte will be returning to the runway as the first show for NYFW in 2023 and physical shows like Collina Strada, Dion Lee, Judy Turner, Prabal Gurung, and Simkhai are highly anticipated. Luar will be the last presentation of the season and this will take place on February 15th.
This February edition of NYFW will see Thom Browne returning. Browne has just been named CFDA chairman and has been limiting his collections to Paris for years now. Runway shows will be viewable via the Runway 360 digital hub made available by the CFDA and multiple designers will be live streaming their runway shows through their social media accounts.
Notable additions to the 2023 NYFW include Heron Preston’s debut and Paloma Spain popping out. On the Emerging Talent list, look out for Area, Luar, Puppets & Puppets, and Willy Chavarria.
Spot the Celebrity
Besides the fashion, celebrities attending NYFW shows is always one of the most talked-about aspects of the event. In 2022, Anna Wintour, the Global Editorial Director of Vogue, dominated mentions on social media, with 87% of these created by fans overjoyed to see the fashion icon at the most top-rated presentations.
In 2023, we’re looking forward to seeing Lila Moss, Erykah Badu, Rocco Ritchie, Lourdes Leon, Karlie Kloss, and Dove Cameron in the seats.
2022 Trends Continuing Into 2023
Although the season of Fall to Winter 2022/2023 largely saw fashion streamlining, Spring to Summer 2023 had a more jubilant spirit and stirred the imagination, featuring pieces combining art and fashion. If you are part of the many who felt that 2000s trends were losing momentum, you’ll be surprised by what’s made the cut for this year:
- 3-Dimensional Flowers
If you’re tempted to transform straightforward outfits into blooming works of art, you’ll be following in the footsteps of designers like Coperni, Ibrahim Kamara, Mirror Palais, Prada, and Saint Laurent.
- Light Blue
The Barbiecore trend of the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, which featured bright colours and matching items, has finally given way. Baby Blue has taken the empty space left by the vivid palette of Barbiecore, delivering scaled-down, softer moods with an innocent, fluid feel. Burberry, Emporio Armani, Gucci, Prada, and Simon Spurr are all hailing this tone as the new pink.
- Cargo
The cargo pants you spotted on the Attico, Bottega Veneta, Celine, Fendi, and Tom Ford runways are almost identical to the ones originally worn by the British army in the 1930s. Women’s cargo pants are becoming more of a staple for the modern wardrobe than ever before.
- Get Gothic
Although gothic-style interpretations for the 2022/2023 season aren’t literal, it’s easy to spot the inspiration. The aesthetic underwent a soft grunge makeover as featured on the Burberry, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Junya Watanabe, and Paco Rabanne shows.
- Liquid gold
If it’s shiny, it’s in, according to Chanel, Gabriela Hearst, Gucci, Michael Kors, and Tom Ford. Feel free to don this shimmering metallic and spice up your look to stay relevant in 2023.
- Neon
Get your lust for summer sated by donning neon colours and you’ll be on-trend as you can be. Fluorescent hues of green, yellow, and blue are being showcased by Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Fendi, and Louis Vuitton.
- Optical illusions
Houses like Balmain, Loewe, Maison Margiela, Schiaparelli, and Y/Project, have dived deep into the surrealistic aspect of creativity for 2022/2023. Immerse yourself with illusional pieces that will elevate the ordinary into the out-of-this-world.
NYFW and Industry Growth
The American fashion industry is enormous, ranking as one of the top categories for online shopping. Already valued at hundreds of billions of dollars, recent estimates forecast sales figures for 2023 at nearly $500 billion, a growth rate of 4.5% for sales numbers in 2022.
The impact of NYFW on the industry is significant:
- It’s one of the most watched events in history.
- It attracts thousands of people, generating in excess of $900 million yearly.
- It also brings in wagers of over $10 million and roughly $2 billion in tax revenue.
- It opens jobs in the buying, design, manufacturing, marketing, and research sectors.
- Not only does fashion already account for more than 5% of the NY workforce, it also brings in a range of international jobs.
Fashion shows are important as showcasing events and premiering the season’s newest styles. However, they can also be seen as moving art shows, highlighting the efforts of some of the most creative minds in the world. New York Fashion Week is a not-to-be-missed event for anyone interested in what to wear.
